What a fun bunch of people. Ashley and Britton finally go to have the big wedding they had hoped for. She was absolutely beautiful and he was sharp in his dress uniform. The weather was fantastic and the cops only came one time. The fantastic crew at the event facility Windows on the Water took care of the police. They must have slipped him a $ 50 or gave him some food because 10 min later he was gone and the music never got softer. The evening was closed by Ashley and Britton running threw about a half a mile worth of sparklers and then they left by boat from the marina. Oh man, that 1st picture of the bride is just exquisite. I have a question: how did you gain your experience as a photographer and are you self taught? Your profile doesn't mention any formal education and I'm curious. Also, what type of digital equipment do you use for your work? Inquiring minds want to know...LOL

Well Dee, There was never any formal education. I started in the 4th grade by winning a photo competition at school. It was a photo of a rhinoceros slamming into the back of our school bus while we were at an African themed wildlife park in Georgia. I was kind of hooked after that. When I was 16 I got a job at a camera store at the mall. I read the many different camera and lens manuals and all of the photo books that we sold. It was a very slow store and there wasn't much to do except watch girls and sip Jack Daniels. It was there that I got interested in the darkroom. From the camera store, I went on to work at a professional lab running the custom darkroom. It was there that I feel I got my training. My job was to fix all of the mistakes that were made by all of the professional photographers in town. I started shooting weddings around 1980 for some of the customers at the lab. The rest of it is just me. It is a gift.
My gear bag at a wedding will have Fuji S3, S2 and Nikon D100 and my new D200 camera bodies. Nikon DX-800 flash units. Nikon 18-70 zoom. Nikon 80-200 zoom, Nikon 85mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8 24-120VR zoom and the Gary Fong Light Dome. Tripod and monopod.
ALL of my techniques will be laid out IN FULL in my new DVD set. and at my Classes this summer and on the Seminar tour. Keep checking this blog for details.
